Women Participation and Leadership

Women Participation and Leadership Programme is an initiative established to assist in educating & empowering women and young girls in slum / marginilised communities to have access and opprotunities to be involved in decision making processes that affect their communities and livelyhood.
Some of the activities include:
- Capacity Building
- Socio-economic Development
- Encouraging building self confidence and active participation in Leadership roles
Gender Based Violence

As WCDT we have made it of great importance to spread gender based violence awareness.
Some of the activities include:
- Workshops on gender sensitisation, domestics violenc.
- Control and inheritance access
- Empowering women to use the law in gender violence related issues
HIV & AIDS

To reduce the negative impact of HIV & AIDS on families and the community.

Some of the activities include:
- Workshops on HIV and AIDS issues and its impact on women.
- Ecouraging women to take up VCT through education and counsellings
- Home based care activities
- Networking with other NGOs and Govenment departments.

Girl Child Empowerment Programmes

Girl Child Empowerment Programme is the arm of WCDT that offers psycho- social support on an individual as well as mould leaders from the broader population of young girls. Issues such as Sexual Reproductive Health are also mainstreamed in all the programming areas which has seen young girls are making informed decisions and engaging in safe sexual and reproductive health practices that lead to healthy lives.

Some of the activities include:
- Workshops on gender sensitisation, self awareness, life skills, transformational leadership, HIV & AIDS reproductive health and Project management.
- Ecouraging girls to work in groups of income generating projects
- Sourcing financial support for group/individual projects
- Encouraging building of self confidence and active participation in their communities.
Socio-economic Development Initiatives

At WCDT we aim to train and support women in income generating projects in areas that enable them to sustain themselves and their families.Our programme is beyond workshops and teachings, its a program centred on involving young people to come up together and highlight specific causes of concern in their community which they discuss and offer solutions to these issues. Each community WCDT works in has its own unique challenges which range from teen pregnancy, HIV/AIDS and drug abuse.

Some of the activities include:
- Promote formulation of income generating projects and encouraging communities to work in groups.
- Capacity building workshops.
- Monitoring of income generating groups performance.
- Finding local and outside markets for members.
Women's rights, inclusion, participation and leadership

We equip women and youth with necessary skills to participate in social, economic, cultural and political spheres, through leadership, advocacy and decision making training'.

Some of the activities include:
- Providing skill building and leadership training for women civil society member, women's orgnisations and female jounalists.
- Improving women's access to justice and increasing women's participation and representation in the justice sector.
- Supporting local efforts to advocate for legal rights that enable women to participate fully in the social and economic life of their societies.
